My favorite of all the shows I've ever attended!
Friday, April 11, 2008 - 6:56 pm - BoLisa
Atlantic City House of Blues

It's been a week ago tonight that the Atlantic City concert took place. It's taken me a week to even get coherent thoughts about it. I have to say that it was undoubtedly the hottest, most intimate feeling concert I've ever attended!

Bo came out onto the stage playing the music from Ain't Got Money and he was singing something about his Peeps. I knew from that moment that this was going to be different.

He prowled the stage like a panther and he would stop right in front of us and make eye contact- just stare into your eyes while he played and it was like nothing he'd ever done before. I was lucky enough to be on the front row to the right, right in front of Luis. I honestly don't know if the people further back than two or three rows could feel the intensity of Bo and his looks, but I can guarantee you if you ask anyone who was there in those front rows they would say the same thing I'm saying! Hot. Intimate. Almost disconcerting in its intensity. He connected with us like never before.

The setlist was perfection. He did the entire See The Light CD, plus Can't You See, U Make Me Better and The Real Thing.

At one point he came out onstage alone with his guitar and told us that he had been detached today; he had lost a good friend that morning. He went on to speak about him and how he wanted us to help him celebrate the life of Mark. He sang Sinner In A Sin more beautifully than I've ever heard him sing and then he finished the concert with Whiskey, Women and Time. He was amazing. He ran from one end of the stage to the other screaming at the top of his lungs, "I LOVE YOU GUYS!" And you know what? I believe him.

What a fabulous show! Bo sounded and looked fantastic! I was so glad I came to the show. I had wanted to make the NYC show, but it didn't work out so I did AC instead. Of course, in all the shows I've been to, to see Bo, I've NEVER been disappointed! He puts on a fabulous show and is so incredibly generous and appreciative of his fans. Part of why I love him so much! It was fun to meet some new Bo fans there in AC and pass the time in line with some others that I "kinda" knew already! Can't wait for the next time already, whenever I can make it to another show!

Bo, need to put C&N on your next CD! I love that song too! Thanks for an AWESOME show!

I would have to say this was the first Bo show I've gone to that when it was over I didn't feel cheated. I mean we got all Bo. I know he did CYS and Vehicle but he did recordings of those songs. I loved all his set songs. I feel really sad for the loss of his good friend. I'm glad he wanted his next song that his friend loved not to be a downer but a happy song. I was happy because SIAS is my favorite Bo song and was happy he sung it. I think what I want to say is I feel like we got all Bo and not what someone wanted Bo to be.

The Ultimate Concert
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - 9:35 am - loveanymusic
This took me back to my very first Bo concert at the HOB in Cleveland. I was floating on a "Bo" cloud then and the AC concert just lifted me higher and higher.
I am never ever disappointed at a Bo Show but I must say, Bo was on fire for this one.
His tribute of SIAS for his friend was the absolute best version of that song I had ever heard and it left me breathless.

HOB vs HOB
Monday, April 7, 2008 - 12:43 pm - GreenBo
Friday night at the AC show was everything & more. I am not going to give a recap as I think everyone has done such a great job and I would not be adding anything new. As I read the recaps I keep reliving the whole evening.

These are my thoughts/observations comparing the 2 shows that I attended at the HOB in AC:
September 2006 - AWESOME
April 2008 - AWESOMEEEER

Bo just doesn't sing HIS songs but he feels them. They are his messages to the world. He has such deep emotions it is magnetic and so obvious in his performance. He relays his message/emotions while performing his songs not only with his beautiful voice but also from his many expressions. I noticed at times when he was playing the guitar & not singing he was so deeply involved in his music it was as if he was in a nirvana ( a perfect piece of mind). He is magical...he is mystical.
He is still the same Bo but more. He is comfortable in his own skin now no longer the "penguin in the fur coat".
STL is his love & dedication to us (his fans). He wears his heart on his sleeve and I am very proud to be his fan.

Conclusion: I loved both shows but after the second show - I love him even more & have the highest respect for him & his music. I know I was not the only one feeling these emotions as I looked at the faces around me.

Clive Davis was right about one thing: Bo is "The Real Thing".

BEST CONCERT EVAH!!!!!!
Sunday, April 6, 2008 - 2:47 pm - chicknlittle
Bo was simply phenomenal last night. Best concert I have ever been to, by Bo or any artist for that matter (not that I'm an expert on Bo concerts, I have only been to five in the past three years, but I think Bo will be hard pressed to top this one!). If I wasn't already a fan I'm sure I'd be a convert and be madly googling his name and his CD.

I thought his voice sounded amazing, full of power. In fact there were moments when he was holding a big note where I actually felt a sense of euphoria and his voice was a wave of pure pleasure rushing through me. Bo is like a happiness drug.

Every song was another winner, there were truly no disappointing numbers. The ballad "Only Words" is usually my least favorite song on the CD but it is really gorgeous experienced live, and the stripped down, acoustic version of "Sinner and a Sin" was so poignant and beautiful. "Sinner" was the third to last song, and the energetic set he had just performed up to that point was made even more unbelievable knowing that he had just suffered such a tragic loss as the death of a close friend. And then after "Sinner" (and after leaving me misty-eyed), he blew everyone away with the energy-packed "Whiskey Women and Time". What a great closing number. Bo doesn't need the crutch of Sweetbird anymore.

I left that venue weak-kneed, awestruck, and supremely satiated, and I'm pretty sure everyone else did too!
